How this is begun ? Hmmm….I don’t really know. 🙂
After a lots years of playing basketball in the school and playing volleyball in the U18 second and first class … I begun to dance.
My family always asked me if I want to go to any dance school. Why ? Because they were ballroom dancers for many years – class A – and my grandmother was amongst the first official ballroom dance teachers in Hungary. She tought a lot of persons during her 55 years of work. So , first I said to them no. But after some months, by myself, I begun to go to dance classes with one of my classmates. After 2 years I changed the club and begun to work with my grandma. So these were the first steps
After ballroom dances I begun to dance fashion dance just as lambada, boogie-woogie, tango argentino…that was more like me.
Then the leader of the club invited my to take part on the trainings of the show dance team. It was a lots of work to learn new things such as basics of ballet, jazz, modern…these were good times and I’ll be grateful for that , because these classes gave me good basics. Not just for that time, but for all the time after. After taking part on a lots of national and international championship I quit. I stopped the dance.
But I couldn’t stop and found one thing which is still one of my favourite it was a braizilain martial art called Capoeira. In capoeira there was music, singing and what every boy needs … fighting. No it is not a dance. J I’ve did it for 7 years and before I could took my 6-7th graduation as Instructor…I stopped.
In 2004, paralell with capoeira trainings I begun to dance salsa in Salsa Tropical Dance Scholl in Budapest – led by José Alberto Rey Perez – . Even my first class was a perfect one. I think after 1 month I knew that I’ve found what I always looked for. However in these days I only knew the basics steps and heard basic rhytms. Because of my prevous experience in other dances it wasn’t too hard to progress in the classes. I’ve learnt more and more and begun to wonder the world of cuban salsa. So it is 9 years now…. I was taking part of lots of workshops of Cuban Salsa, Afro-Cuban and many more… I was intereted about the music and instruments also. I can play basics on clave, campana, guiro, maracas and conga as well. Some months ago I begun to learn drumming from one of the best hungarian Instructors. And try to have all the best cuban music, and also acting as a DJ at some salsa parties.
In 2009 I was so lucky to spend 2 weeks in Havana, the beautiful capital of Cuba. It was amazing. The atmosphere, the musicality, the vibration in the air. We were at lots of salsa and rumba places. I think we should go back very soon because we miss Havana and Cuba.
